News - Funding boost to recruit more Learning through Leisure volunteers!

Learning through Leisure is looking for new volunteers to help our Explorers take part in leisure activities and we have received a funding boost which we hope will help!

Our Mission Statement:

"Learning through Leisure provides a person who has a learning disability (an Explorer) with the ideal opportunity to maximise their independence and self-fulfilment within the wider community.

" This is achieved by carefully matching an Explorer with a trained volunteer Companion.

"It is their friendship which is the key to increasing the Explorer's confidence and motivation to learn through choosing, planning and ultimately making the Explorer's choices for leisure activities and holidays become reality."
